Anxiety Me

Posted by

A silent comic with a loud message.

A must read, an insight into what its like to be dealing with anxiety.

Written and illustrated by Nicole Bates.

As someone who suffers from depression and anxiety, I really resonate with this comic.

With no words, the pictures tell the real story.

Wonderfully drawn artwork, a great style with bright colours, this comic is universal, it’s great for all ages! This comic will hopefully raise awareness to anxiety and how it affects its sufferers.

This is the first silent comic I’ve read, it is very unique and gives great insight. With a white background, the pictures really stand out vibrantly. The pictures represent a different aspect of anxiety with the highs and lows of moods. Anxiety is described as feeling an intense worry which causes low self-esteem and self-confidence, depicted in this one of a kind comic.

As the comic is silent, the story-line is up to you. I can think of two story-lines which can come from this comic. The first story is that she is looking for something that she can’t find which is why she feels overwhelmed and feels like she is on a treasure hunt. Or the other story would be that she lives in her mind to escape reality and the feelings of anxiety and even in her daydreams, she doesn’t feel good enough, but you will have to read it yourself and let me know in the comments what you think the story is about!
